I created a robust Aveda Artist digital activation strategy for the new Aveda Full Spectrum Vibrants Hair Color Line (July 2019), marking the first time an Aveda product launched through social media first.
My strategy included:
• Tapping 7 global influencers to lead the activation
• Developing the artist story statement as the consistent theme of the launch
• Capturing engaging artist interviews for Instagram videos
• Leading imagery needs for artists’ social media feeds
• Providing Impactful captions for the influencers to post
• Implementing a strong hashtag strategy
• Developing the full posting calendar designed to ignite the full network of Aveda Artist professional hair colorists
• Spearheading the posting of the first 95 Instagram posts during the 3-month launch period (newsfeeds and stories)
The project started by developing what the artist launch would look like, including the full artist story statement and then choosing the top seven global Aveda Artists from North America, United Kingdom, Korea, Australia and Norway, to lead the launch online. Artist directors and assistants were also included to lead the launch in the same timing.
At the shoot, I orchestrated the capturing of assets by the artists, to ensure the story statement would come to life through imagery. I also conducted the interviews with each artist to create a series of impactful Instagram videos.
Three months before official launch, I delivered my activation toolkit and launch plan to the seven artists for them to begin posting on their own social media channels.
The goal of them leading the launch was three-prong:
1. To showcase these 7 artists as the leaders in hair color
2. To introduce a new product to artists and consumers
3. To ignite excitement to the full global hair color community to inspire them to use the product and post their own images using the key hashtags.
At the start of launch the official Aveda Artist community Instagram account, @avedaartists also kicked off the launch with 1 post that resulted in 26,692 impressions and a reach of 15,880 accounts.

Through a powerful and collaborative consultation with their client, they deliver customized hair color hues for each of their guests’ unique personalities. They do this through the new dynamic shades of Full Spectrum Vibrants Semi- Permanent Treatment Hair Color.
